The Tamil dub of Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released this X'Mas in Malaysia

Ever wanted to watch Star Wars in a totally different language? You can pretty soon as the Tamil version of Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released in cinemas on December 25, Christmas day.

And no we’re not talking about the movie coming with Tamil subtitles either. This is an actual, full-blown, Tamil dub that’ll be shown in Malaysian cinemas come Christmas day. So far, the movie is set to be in selected TGV and GSC cinemas.
For TGV, the cinemas that will be carrying the Tamil dub of Star Wars: The Force Awakens are at: TGV Cheras Sentral and Suria KLCC in Kuala Lumpur, TGV Rawang and SetiaWalk in Puchong, TGV Bukit Mertajam in Penang, and TGV Kulaijaya in Johor.
As for GSC, the branches carrying the Tamil version of the movie are: GSC Quill City Mall in Kuala Lumpur, GSC IOI City Mall Puchong in Selangor, GSC IOI City Mall in Putrajaya,  GSC Amanjaya Mall in Kedah, GSC Sunway Carnival in Penang, and GSC Terminal One Shopping centre in Seremban.
If you’re wondering just what a Tamil version of Star Wars: The Force Awaken is like, there’s even a trailer to give you a taste of what’s to come. We’re guessing that we’ll also be hearing the same professionally done voice acting in the trailer be present in the movie as well.

The dubbing was done by UTV Motion Pictures which is actually a Disney subsidiary based in India, so this is legit and approved by Disney. And from what we’ve gathered, Tamil isn’t the only language UTV is dubbing Star Wars: The Force Awakens in. There’s also a Hindi and Telugu version coming out, though those versions aren’t being released here in Malaysia.

So what do you think? For Tamil speaking fans, do you think that the dub will do justice to the movie? And for those of you who’ve already watched the English version, would you check out the Tamil version as well? Let us know in the comments.
